Our 136-kilogram Poll Ram, Escalator, was the winner of the Fibre Meat Plus class at the 2010 Royal Adelaide Show.

Escalator was then sold at Classings Classic Annual Ram Sale for $30,000 to Phil Toland, Toland Merinos, Violet Town, Vic, on behalf of the Advance All Purpose Merino Syndicate comprising nine Victorian, New South Wales and Queensland studs – Toland, Well Gully Poll Merinos at Mitchell, Petali and Miramoona at Walcha, Nareen at Coleraine, Coonewarran at Mortlake, Burra Downs at Flinders Island, The Mountain Dam at Balmoral and Kedleston Park, Bendigo.

“He has just got a great make and shape with superb Merino wool,” Phil said.
“We believe when the ram has progeny on the ground he will really prove himself. He is from such a strong background of animals which have had leading growth rates, and his wool measurements are really good with outstanding conformation.”
